It is the second time I visit Sapporo this year. The first time was in September (The photo in the home page is taken in Moerenuma Park, Sapporo), this time is for a reseach meeting.
In Japanese it’s called “研究会”, where the main purpose is to gather students from different universities and let them present their research and receive feedback. Students do not present individually through slides, but use A0 posters in a single session. Typically each session lasts 50 minutes with around 15 to 18 students.
Other than the poster presentations, three prominent people from significant corporations (Softbank, NTT and KDDI) were invited to discuss the future of AI in Japan. It seems like the three members are invited every time for this meeting though, but I guess they are significant enough to not be replaced by others.
